Deer hunting season is here and with
it comes the job of hunting warm clothes
too. This usually means opening all thiee
of my chests to be sure a favorite sweater
hasn’t been missed
My husband, two tall sons and I usually
hunt for only one day and then come
home in time to do the milking.
The first thing I did last year was fall
on the icy road and break my thumb undei
the gun which I fell on. ,
My throbbing thumb didn’t deter me
though and I saw about 10 deer Several
came within 12 feet and then pawed the
ground before turning to dash away with

yes. my son is doing excellent
work, according to the teacher.
Last week, I tried making the
apple butter I mentioned
earlier. We weie all pleased
with the results and I put some
in baby food jars as possible
g.fts at Christmas. The jelly
and jam which I make during
the summer, together with ex
tra flower bulbs, are often used
as gifts
Soon, I’ll replace the Indian
corn on the doors with ever
green, red ribbons and bells
The young children’s pleas for
popcorn after supper will be
met more frequently There is
something cozy about popcorn
on a winter night, especially
when there, is hot cocoa and
marshmallows to go with it
Now, if we can just figure a
way to have fewer meetings and
more time to stay home and
enjoy our families
