Two sisters this week captured top honors in the 4-H
Soil and Water Conservation Club competition.
They are Brenda, 9, reserve champion, and Karen 14,
grand champion, daughters of Mr. and Mrs Milton K
Horst, New Holland RDI
Karen’s display, in the background, showed the import
ance of types and size of soil particles in conserving the
land and in achieving maximum production Brenda’s pro
ject showed why terraced land saves water and prevents
erosion.
Karen attends Garden Spot High School and Brenda
goes to Hinkletown Elementary School
