Society 9
“The Prevention of Crimes
Against Women" was the topic
discussed by a member of the
State Police at the March meet
ing of Society of Farm Women
9 held in the nome of Mrs. Eliza
beth Eshbach, Millersville.
She was assisted by Mrs. Ken
neth Eshelman and Mrs Lillian
Michelson with the latter lead
ing devotions.
During the business meeting,
conducted by Mrs. Wilbur Heller
president, a donation was gnen
to the Easter Seals. Mrs. William
Gring, in charge of cancer dress
ings, reported that 576 pads were
delivered.
Society 9 will entertain Society
16 in May instead of April as
previously announced. Members
of Society 9 will be guests of
Society 2 in the Farm and Home
Center on April 11. An auction
was conducted for the benefit of
the miscellaneous fund.
The next meeting will be held
April 9 in the home of Mrs.
Warren. Boyer, Millersville Rl.
Society 14
The Society of Farm Women
14 met recently at the home of
Mrs. Everett Newswanger, 1753
Lincoln Highway East. Co-hos
tesses were Mrs. Jacob Herr, Mrs.
Laverne Mylin and Miss Elsie
Metzler.
Mrs. Herr led devotions. Mrs
Leon Thomas, president, gave a
copy of the Farm Women resolu
tions for 1970 to each member
and said the group will send re

ing of Society 7 Saturday in the
Leacock Presbyterian Church,
Paradise.
It was announced that the
spring rally will be-held May 5
at the Penn Harris Motor Inn,
Camp Hill, A contribution will
be sent to the Craig Harnish
fund.
Mrs. Evon Hall, ways and
means chairman, announced the
society will have a food stand at
Arlan’s store on May 29.
It was reported that 204 cancer
dressings had been sewed by
members during the past month.
The program featured Mrs
Paul Hummel who spoke on
"Plant Life of Biblical Times.”
On April 8, the society will
tour the Wax Museum, after
which the business meeting will
be held at the Willows, Lincoln
Highway East.

Farm Women Society 25 met
at the Kready House, 14 Kready
Ave., Millersville. Mrs. David
Newswanger was hostess. Twen
ty members and eight guests
were present. Mrs. Paul Roland
was in charge of the devotions.

Mrs Joseph Breneisen, chair
man of the ways and means
committee, announced plans for
a bake sale Friday, April 17 at
the Two Guys Discount Depart
ment Store, Rohrerstown Road
and Lincoln Highway. The gift
of the month was received by
Mrs. Samuel Goss.
It was announced that the
Spring Rally will be held at
11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5 at the
Penn Harris Motor Inn. Reser
vations must be made by April
24.
Plans were made to entertain
Society 6 on April 11 at a cover
ed dish luncheon at 12 a.m. at
the home of Mrs. Glenn Nau
man, Route 6, Lancaster. Mrs.
Joseph Breneisen requested a
need for more 4-H leaders for
this year.
Mrs. Alfred W. Moyer, Jr. was
guest speaker. Her theme was
on Easter egg decorating. She
has shown us many of her beau
tiful eggs she has decorated.
The next meeting will be held
Saturday, April 11 at the home
of Mrs. Glenn Nauman, Route 6,
Lancaster. The program will be

led discussion during a meeting
of Society of Farm Women 29 in
the home of Mrs. Gerald Kt eider,
Quarryville Rl.
Mrs. Eugene Eby was co-hos
tess. Mrs Clayton Ranck was in
charge of devotions Mrs, Ronald
Ober, president, conducted the
business session.
Plans were made for a refresh
ment stand at a public sale to be
held March 21 at 511 Walnut St.,
Columbia. Mrs. Eby announced
that a mother-daughter lea is
planned for May 18 at 7:30 p m.
in the Musser Spnn ' House, near
Mount Joy.
