When the holiday icaion end*,
don’t burn or throw away that
Christmas tree providing its a
real one. That tree can be a valu
able asset around other trees and
shrubs. The branches can be cut
oft and used as a ground mulch
around other evergreens. The
entire tree may be used as wind
or sun protection over and
around small broad-leaf ever
greens. This kind of protection
may reduce or prevent severe
Winter killing. Bright Winter
sun and strong winds tend to dry
out these plants if they are not
protected. Some owners use bur
lap or snow fences to give this
same protection. Make good use
of the Christmas tree until
Spring.
If you want to see a genuine
