Give Wax Plant (and many
other houseplants) partial rest

until more sunlight becomes

According to a Pennsylvania
State University correspon
dence course on houseplants,
not hot, dry, indoor air and lack
of nutrients, but insufficiency
of sunlight is the cause of slow
plant growth in winter.
Give Wax Plant full sun in
cool windows. Best winter
temperature is 60 to 65 degrees
in'the day, 50 to 60 at night
Don’t repot unless in too
small containeis to suppoit the
plants Wax Plants bloom best
when slightly potbound.
Don’t remove the short stems
or spurs on which flowers were
borne. Next season’s floweis
Will come at the same places
Wax Plant, Hoya carnosa, is
evergreen It’s a climbing plant
with thick stems and fleshy,
lustrous foliage Pinkish white
flowers of waxlike texture
bloom in midsummer. It’s been
a popular houseplant for many
years but getting it to bloom in
the average home takes time
Flowers don’t come until plants
are three or four yeais old and
sbghtly potbound
