Placements of broiler chicks in
the Commonwealth during the
week ending November 15 were
1,194,000. The placements were
30% above the same week a year
earlier and 13% above the prev
ious week. Average placements
during the past 10 weeks were
17% above a year earlier. Sett
ings for broiler chicks were 1,-
802,000 —5% above the prev
ious week and 13% above the
comparable period a year ear
lier. The current 3-week total of
eggs set is 10% above the same
period a year ago. Inshipments
of broiler-type chicks during the
past 10 weeks averaged 5,000
and compares with 14,000 a year
ago. Outshipments averaged 305,-
000 during the past 10 weeks,
23% above a year earlier.
