A typical milk goat averages
two to six quarts of milk a day
and is fed regular goat chow and
alfalfa or good mixed hay. It
takes the Fishers about one
hour to complete the milking
and the oldest milk gout they
have ever had was 16-ycars-old.
But mostly, they only stay in the
iherd umtl they aie 8 or 9-years
old.
The stock is registered in
either the American Dairy Goat
Assn, or the American Goat So
ciety. Jacob is president of the
Pennsylvania Dairy Goat Assn,
and the family participates in
the activities of the Southeast
ern Pennsylvania Dairy Goat
Assn.

dent of the Lititz-Manheim 4-H
