August and September are two
good months to apply lime on
many fields. For land that is to
be seeded to legumes in 1970,
now is the time to get started
to correct the acidity for it takes
time for lime to work; when it
is well mixed into the soil it will
do a much better and faster job.
Sod that is to be plowed down
in 1970 and needs lime, may be
limed this fall because this lime
will be well mixed with the soil
when the soil is turned again
for the 1971 small grain crop to
be seeded down. Most fields are
in much better condition for
heavy trucks during late sum
mer than in early spring. A soil
test will determine the amount
of lime that is needed. Don’t
guess.

Give Your Calves
a Head Start!
Add months to the productive life of your
dairy herd with fast-growing calves that
mature and freshen earlier. Feed Wayne
Calfnip, the medicated milk replacerthat out
performs milk. Sell the milk you save at
today's higher prices. Young calves can't use
the cereal in cheaper, cereal-filled milk re
placers. Gains are much less. Scours can be
37% more frequent. Calfnip contains aureo
mycin, not one smidgeon of cereal filler. It's
95% milk products and high quality animal
fats. Mixes easy. Stays mixed. Highly nutri
tious. Puts fat in the calf without leaving
greasy film on your feed equipment!
Feed for the difference innovations make.
Feed Wayne.
