It’s a great feeling to know that you are the
master of your farmlands . . . that when you
treat your soil right, it will treat you right
Liming is one of the most important factors in
keeping your soil in the highest productive
range. By raising the pH from a level below
6.0 to 6.5 or higher, you can expect to harvest
7 more bushels of wheat per acre, with similar
increases for all other forage and cash crops.

Why I took my
loan business
to the Key Bank
That’s where they talk my language.
There’s Stanley Musselman in the
agricultural loan department. He
knows farming as well as I do. He
gave me some good advice on plan
ning for profitable management
even had some ideas on how I could
improve my operation. The cost of
my loan was detailed so that I had a
clear understanding of where I was
headed financially. I recommend the
Key Bank to get the best farm man
agementadvice and any loan needed
to improve your farming operation.
Just ask for Stanley Musselman.

Susquehanna River. A site near
Wilkes-Barre was selected be
cause of both the large quantity
and extremely poor quality of
the abandoned mine drainage
water in that region.
This plant signifies a new con
cept in mine drainage abatement
because it places the cost of
treatment on a pay-as-you-go bas
is through sale of the water
rather than placing the burden
on the taxpayers.
Perhaps equally important is
the fact that the ultra-pure water
produced will be a high quality
product that will not only help
pay for its operation but can be
used to attract new industues to
this area.
Pharmaceutical, photographic
film or chemical and dye manu
facture! s could easily locate on
available land nearby and take
this water directly from the
mine drainage treatment plant.

The treatment plant will em

process developed by Westing

piogram and is similar to the one
used in desalting plants that con

Contracts signed this week call
foi Westinghouse to design and
supply the technical and profes

plant’s multistage flash evapora

supervise the general phnt con

on public bid. Both contracts
will be on a cost-plus basis not to
exceed $l4 2 million.
