cows Overall finish of slaughter
steers was not as attractive as
last week with 10 percent prime
and 76 percent choice. This com
pares with 17 percent prime and
72 percent choice last week, and
8 peicent prime and 77 percent
choice a year ago. Average cost
and weight of slaughter steers
estimated at 3110, highest since
November, 1952, and 1160 lbs.,
compaied with 30.45 and 1174
lbs last week and 26.88 and 1154
lbs a year ago. Heifer supply
mainly average good to low
prime weighing 825-1050 lbs.
SLAUGHTER STEERS —On
Wednesday, piime 1250-1440 lbs
yield giade 3 and 4 33.50-34.50,
load 1402 lbs at latter price.
