Mobifeaf
makes tobacco
transplants stand up
and grow a stand
Mobileaf is the new dip that applies a coating
to the leaves of tobacco transplants, helping them
to hold moisture, resist wilting and survive the
shock of being moved from seedbed to field.
Mobileaf is a liquid easy to mix with water.
Transplants, treated with Mobileaf, stand up and
start strong and vigorous in the field, greatly re
ducing the need to replant to get a stand. The
profitable result is row after row of uniform growth,
making it easier to control suckers. You also get
uniform ripening of better quality leaf that is ideal
for harvest.
In on-farm tests last year, Mobileaf increased to
bacco yields an average of 83 pounds per acre
and increased crop value an average of $63 per
acre.
Mobileaf is economical and easy to use. One
gallon, mixed with five gallons of water, treats
about 7,000 transplants —or enough for one acre.
We have Mobileaf. Make sure you get enough
for your transplants. Place your order now!

change federal icgulations to
permit up to 15 percent of
poultry pioducts in "all meat”
cooked sausage without any
change in the pioduct name on
the label "would facilitate the
deception of consumers.”
In 1968, the AMI estimates,
Americans consumed about 1,-
575 million pounds of wieners
and franks an average of
about 80 per person to set a
new national recoid.
Under current federal regula
tions, “all meat” frankfurters
are limited to the red meats,
principally beef and pork.
On April 9, the USD A grant
ed 45 days for comments on the
proposed regulation change.
In its defense of the integrity
of the “all meat” hot dog, the
AMI said: “We believe that
many consumers prefer their
flanks and other cooked saus
age without poultry meat, and
we believe the label should faci
litate the identification of such
products.
“The simplest and least con
fusing means of accomplishing
that objective is by maintain
ing the integrity of the existing
label.
“Since we believe that the ‘all
meat’ label on products contain
ing poultry wo aid be confusing,
if not actually deceptive, we
urge that the ‘all meat’ label
represent as it has in the
past products containing
only meat as defined in . . .
federal meat inspection regula
tions.”
In its letter to the USD A, the
i AMI did not express any, objec
tion to the inclusion of poultry
products in franks which are
not labeled as “all meat,” “a 11
beef,” or “all pork.”
