It was announced that any Lancaster County 4-H member interested in horse judging is welcome to come to the April 11 meeting of the Boots and Saddle Club to ne neld at the Faim and Home Center. Penryn-Elm The Penryn and Elm 4-H Club held their first meeting on March 3, at the Pemyn Fiie Hall. The following officers weie elected for the year 1969, Pre sident, Joseph Lefever; Vice Piesident, Kenneth Miller, Secretary, Gregory Schell; Treasurer, Jay Witman; Song Leader, Dale Ulrich; Game Leaders, Dale Witman and Cathy Miller; New Reporter, Cindy Shelly. Jay Witman was appointed to attend the County Council meetings. Mr. Victor Plastow, Asociate Agricultural Agent showed a film called A Day At The County Fair. NORTHERN LANC. CO. SOIL & WATER The Northern Lancaster Co., 4-H Soil and Water Conservation Club met in the basement of the Hinkletown Church Friday evening, March 7, at 7:30. The meeting was called to order by Clark Stauffer, President. Deputy Game Protector Frank Martin showed the club a film about the conservation of game in Pennsylvania. Club leader Aaron Stauffer urged club members to partici pate in the club round-up. The round-up will be held on April 9, at the Farm and Home Center in Lancaster. The next meeting will be held on March 21, at 7:30. GARDEN SPOT YOUNG FARMERS MEETING The Garden Spot Young Farmers Association will hold a meeting on FARM LAW and REAL ESTATE on Tuesday, March 25, at 7:30 P.M. in the agriculture classroom of the Garden Spot High School. Mam topics under consideration will be: Rights of Eminent Domain; Hazardous Occupation Laws for Farm Youth; and Highway Laws and Safety for Farm Vehicles. With the new highways and power lines coming through our community, more and more farm owneis are concerned with their rights under Eminent Do main. Mr. James Weaver, New Holland attorney, will be present to discuss this topic and answer questions. Since many farm managers hire additional help sometime during the year, the new Haz ardous Occupation Laws for faim youth will be a timely subject. Eli Wiggins, from the Department of Public Instruc tion in Harrisburg will discuss this topic and answer ques tions. Highway safety is always of importance in our area. Trooper Edwin Grazer from the Pennsyl vania State Police will bring in formation on highway laws and safety for farm vehicles. All interested farmers and agriculture businessmen are in vited.
