Rate of lay, how ever, is down 1 percent from a year ago record high. Most of the percentage changes in monthly production reflects the variable number of days in the respective months. Our flock size decreased only slightly from January, but is 2 percent larger than a year ago. The average price received by fanners for all eggs In Feb ruary is estimated at 42 cents, 8 cents or 24 percent higher than a year ago, although down 5 cents from the January aver age. Egg production revisions for 1968 show the Commonwealth lowered egg production about one-half of one percent from 1967: from 3,165 billion in 1967 to 3,149 million in 1968. The January, 1969 egg-type hatch at 1,718,000, was up 26 percent from January, 1968, and up 2 percent from the previous month. Stocks of all eggs in cold storage January 31, 1969, were 1,587,000 cases, down 29 percent from a year earlier.
