Mishler Auctioneer Davidsville 479-4897 Swine Production In preparing for a presenta tion at one of the local swine producer meetings recently, I was developing some trends in the swine production of Lancas ter County: it might be interest ing to our readers to know that the number of hogs on Lancas ter farms hrs increased approxi mately 50% in the last 5 years It appears this trend will con tinue for the next several years; this same trend is found in a number of the southeastern counties but not generally throughout the state. The de mand is present for a much larger increase in the local pro duction of market hogs. We are informed that a large percent age of the hogs slaughtered in Pennsylvania ahe produced in several of the states west of here. Looks like this enterprise might be worthy of more atten tion and greater production in this area. APRIL 18—1 P.M.
