SPICY RAISIN CAKE
WITH CHERRY SAUCE
% cup shortening
3 cups sifted flour
1 ' cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
V> teaspoon nutmeg
J /2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
% cup sour milk
V. cup dark corn syrup
1 cup raisins
Cinnamon
I can (1 pound, 5 ounces)

Mix flour, sugar and salt. Cut

1 can (1 pound) red tart pitt
ed cherries in water pack
1 can (1 pound, 14 ounces)
unpeeled apricot halves
1 cup pancake mix
V-> cup firmlv packed light
brown sugar
V 2 cup chopped pecans
% cup (1 stick) butter
Light cream or half and half
Dram fiuit, arrange in but
teied 8-inch squaie baking pan
In a bowl mix together pancake
mix, sugai, pecans and butter
Drop by spoonfuls over fruit
Bake in a preheated 350 degree
oven 45 minutes or until topp
ing is browned Serve warm
