own dresses, skirts and suits
and clothes for their five-year
old son Scott. On occasion she
sews just as a favor for a per
sonal friend She also makes
dresses for Christmas presents
foi her church mission stations
in mountainous areas of Virginia
and West Virginia
She puts this talent to useful
community service by being one
of the leaders of the Drumore
4-H Sewing Club. They have
about 30 girls in this club who
range in age between 9 and 19
and meet 6 or 7 times during
the summer m the evenings at
Chestnut Level Church House
They have their own round-ups
She is a representative of
southeastern district of Lancas
ter County on the Lancaster
County 4-H Leaders Council
which meets bimonthly at the
Lancaster County Farm and
Home Center to make plans for
4-H work for the year 4-H
Achievement Day which is held
in August is their biggest acti
vity. It’s an afternoon and even
ing affair They have flower and
vegetable exhibits and this year
it may take in ponies. In con
nection with it they will have a
pork barbecue at evening meal
time
Mr and Mrs Stauffer are sex
tons for the Chestnut Level
Piesbytenan Church and the
Cnurch House (Sunday School
and many meetings and ban
quets are held in this building).
He is also manager of the ceme
tery, sees that it is mowed and
he digs the graves and mows
the church lawns There is v ery
much cleaning for Mrs Stauffer
to do in these large buildings
and she does an excellent job.
They are members of this
church and Sunday School Doth
leaches Bth and 9th grade girls
in the Sunday School, teaches at
Daily Vacation Bible School, is
a member of Circle #1 of the
Women’s Association and the
last two years served as World
Fellowship Chairman —in charge
of sewing and mission work.
Mrs Stauffer is Republican
Committee Woman for Drumore
Township They meet several
times a year in Quarryville or
Lancaster
Mr and Mrs. Stauffer are
members of Shoe-flyer Square
Dance Club which has a mem
bership of 40 and meets monthly
mthe home of Bert Wittenberg,
Strasburg, who calls the figures
and teaches square dancing This
group goes all out for dance
[outfits, and Dotti made her dress
combining two of her hobbies—
dancing and sewing In 1960
she and her husband took part
in Fulton Grange’s square dance
earn at the Pennsylvania Farm
Show in Harrisburg and their
team at the Pennsylvania Farm
also completed in the Pennsyl
vania State Grange District
square dance contest at the
Owens J Roberts High School
at Pottstown
