    COWS NEED MORE
PROTEIN THAN
THEY'VE BEEN
GETTING
As more and more Pennsylvania dairy
men move to high energy, low protein crops
it becomes increasingly difficult to meet the
protein needs for top, profitable milk produc
tion.
If protein intake is inadequate for her
needs or, even more critically, if there is a
wide protein-energy ratio where energy in
take is high and protein just meets minimum
requirements , growth, feed utilization, and
milk yields are rapidly depressed.
Each farm needs to calculate the feed
ing program which will best supplement its
home-grown crops.
Agway's concentrates, ranging from
33% to 60% protein, offer an economical
source of this vita! nutrient. The wrong feed,
even an Agway feed, will not do the job. Ir
must contain protein and energy at the levels
needed to supplement your program.
