Reports of the State Conven
tion of the Society of Farm Wo
men in Harrisbuig were given
by delegates Mrs. Willis Stober,
president, Mis. Harry Usner,
Mrs. Ray Weinhold and Mrs
Mohler, past State President.
Dr John Price, Sr., curator at
the Franklin and Marshall Mu
seum, was the speaker and kept
the women thrilled with his
subject, “Vanishing America ”
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Gilbert
Paul, Stevens Rl, near Mt. Airy,
on February 15.

Dr. C. D. Leiphart, Millers
ville, retravelled “Behind the
Iron Curtain” for Society of
Farm Women 4 at a meeting in
Fellowship Hall of the Mount
ville Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Wilson Mohler served as
hostess. Mrs. Martin Greider led
devotions.
Also on the program were
Mrs. Dean Herr and her daugh
ter, Bonnie, who played several
selections at the piano. Bonnie
is the granddaughter of the hos
tess.

society business.
Society 23 members will be
guests of Society 20 at the Kirk
wood Fire Hall on Thursday,
April 3 at 1-45 p.m. The next
regular meeting of Society 23
will be held at the home of
Mrs Howard Martin, Lancaster
R 3, on Feb. 27 when handwrit
ing analysis will be discussed
Delegates to the 50th conven

the president, Mrs. Charles
Frey, Mrs Lester Newcomer
and Mrs. John Newswanger.

shall Campus featured the folk
art paintings of Abby Aldrich
Rockefeller was the program
for the meeting of Society of
Farm Women 9.
Later the group met in the
home of Mrs Mary Reighard
for the business portion. Assist
ing were Mrs. Ellen Fink, Mis
Madeline Lamphere, Mrs
Jeanne Brenneman and past
president, Mrs Florence Morri
son.
Reports of the 50th state con
vention in Harrisburg were
heard from Mrs. Brenneman,
Mis Ida Jane Zercher and the
new president, Mrs. Mabel
Heller.
The next meeting of Society
9 will be held in February
when members will bring funt
juices for Heart Haven and visit
the Visitors Official Informa
tion Center to learn more about
Lancaster County.
Society 29
The first meeting of the new
ly organized Society of Farm
Women 29 was held with 20
members present The Society
was organized by Mrs. Scott
Nissley, president of Lancaster
Society of Farm Women, in No
vember, 1968.
The group will meet on the
third Monday evening of each
month. Mrs Richard Ober and
Mrs. Elvm Brenneman were
hostesses at the Brenneman
home, Mount Joy Rl.
Mrs. Gerald Ruhl conducted
the opening portion of the
meeting and Mrs Ronald Ober
presided She reported on the
50th annual convention of the
Society of Farm Women of
Pennsylvania held in Harris
burg. Mrs Dale Hiestand was
also a delegate

Type “A” School Lunch
The lunch your child has in
the school cafeteria is probably
a Type “A” school lunch which
indicates food of superior quali
ty. It consists of:
One-half pint of milk
Two teaspoons of butter or
margarine
Three-fourths cup of two or
more vegetables and fruits
Two-ounce serving of protein
rich foods such as meat, poul
try, fish or cheese; one egg:
one-half cup beans or peas, or
four tablespoons peanut butter
One slice or serving white
