Exhibit Set Dec. 27
The 4-H Tobacco and Corn
Exhibit will be held on Friday
afternoon, Dec. 27, at the Farm
and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia
Road, Lancaster, according to
Arnold Luech and Jay Irwin,
Lancaster County Associate Ag
Agents.
For the Corn exhibit mem
bers will show 10 ears from
their project and report all
yields of corn in bushels of
shelled corn.
_ The Tobacco competition will
consist of a completed record
book and exhibit of two hands
of tobacco consisting of 15
leaves tied with another leaf.
One hand will be Wrapper B’s
and the other Filler B’s.
Record book must be in the
Extension Office no later than
Monday, Dec. 23, the Agents
said.

Donald L Ranck, formerly of
Route 1, Paradise, was recently
elected vice president of Alpha
Tau Alpha, the Agricultural
Education professional and hon
orary fraternity at the Pennsyl
vania State University.
Ranck, son of Mr. and Mrs
Lloyd H. Ranck, was active in
the Pequea Valley FFA and
church activities He attended
Millersville State College before
transferring to Penn State last
spring. He is married to the
former Virginia Wivell from

1967 (Cherrycrest Hugo Ebbie,
now a bred heifer) and had the
champion ewe and was named
the best fitter in the sheep show.
He won the Chapter Sears Gilt
m 9th grade and was top Junior
High Magazine Salesman
For all this, though, Paul
gives credit to his parents “For
all these projects and all the
possessions I have accumulated
—credit goes to my parents If
it weren’t for mem, I wouldn’t
have these projects,” he said
