Sort your clothes before washing for better results Sort first
by fabric type, then by color, and then by degree of soil,
Avoid washing lacy undergarments with

Remember to empty pockets.
Shake sand, grass, and loose dirt out of
pockets and cuffs.
Sew up rips and tears.
Replace any missing buttons
Close zippers and tie loose strings to
