Wise Pennsylvania State Grange was told recently at Bullet at its Clara 96th annual session. State Secretary of Agriculture Leland H. Bull informed the Grange that the price farmers get for wheat—sl.o9 a bushel is the same price farmers received in 1936 when bread sold for seven to nine cents a loaf. Secretary Bull expressed “concern” about the widening gap between the prices farmers receive for the products and the prices consumers pay for food in stores. He also expressed concern about the “alarming” spread of gypsy moth in Pennsylvania.
