Utz Potato Chip Company.
Nearly 45 years ago, Mr. and
Mrs William D Utz formed a
man and wife team to make po
tato chips in their home kitchen
Now they have 150 employees
Facilities for storing potatoes
have been enlarged over the
jears to the present 250,000
bushels and they operate a fleet
of 70 delivery trucks serving an
aiea within 75 miles of their
home base

At the Gettysburg battlefields
the poultry people acquired an
official guide and weie given an
hour-long ride through the fields
and a resume of the history of

was on to Adams County and
apple butter and apple slices at
the Musselman Division of Pet
Milk Co, Biglerville
The apples are mechanically
peeled and cored But there is
still much hand work involved
The seasonal employment in
the five plants totals 3,500 to
3,800 people during peak sea

ments are asking foi. I don’t be
lieve there is going to he any
money left for farm programs,”

sociation Wednesday evening at
a re-organization meeting held
at the home of Noah Wenger,
Stevens Rl Wivell succeeds
Wenger, who was president for
the past three years and chose
not to run for re-election as a
director Tuesday night at the
Association’s Annual meeting at
the Holiday Inn, Lancaster

continues as vice president and
