hold recently at the Pennsylva
nia State University sheep and
cattle barns. The program con
sisted of inspection of the Uni
versity Hampshire flock includ
ing the show flock. Also the
sheep evaluation center and a
tour of the new sheep barns.
After lunch Dr. Tom Merrit,
of the University, gave a talk
and demonstration of type con
formation of Hampshire sheep.

Ssf Safety Meeting
Discussion of Farm Safety,
emphasizing corn picker acci
dents, will be the topic of the
Tuesday, Oct. 8 meeting of the
Manor Young Farmers to be
held at Nissley Farm Service,
Washington Boro at 8 p.m
Several local farmers who
have been involved in corn pick
er accidents will be on a panel
to relate their experiences. A
Aim, entitled “Hands Off", will
be shown on corn picker acci
dents.
Prior to the 8 p.m. meeting, a
corn yield check demonstration
will be conducted on corn that
was planted with a no-til planter.
