The offices are effective for
the year beginning on Oct. 1.

stock Tour will be held Tues
day and Wednesday, October
22 and 23, into Dutchess Coun
ty, New York, (near Pough
keepsie) .
This over-night tour will
visit beef and swine feeding
and breeding opeiations.
Bus reservations will be
needed in advance. M. M.

details will be available early
next, week from the County

area FFA Tractor Driving Con
test was held Saturday morning.
Sept 28 in conjunction with the
Ephrata Community Fair at
Ephrata Nine boys fiom various
FFA Chapters from the two
counties participated'
It was an elimination contest
to determine the area represen
tative to go to the state contest
at Penn State next June during
FFA Activities week The local
contest was conducted accord
ing to the state rules Each boy
was scored on the following.
1. Tractor Maintenance rec
ords
2 Examination of safety trac
tor opeiation and maintenance.
3. Trouble shooting a tractor
not in proper condition through
visual observation.
4 Maintenance demonstration
Servicing and testing a battery
5. Driving skill
Each of the 5 parts counted
equal points with a possible to
tal score of 500

third consecutive year at the
New Holland Fair Swine Show
held Thursday afternoon. Frank
lin Ruoss, son of Mr. and Mrs
William Ruoss, Ephrata R 2, won
with his first place Duioc
Reserve grand champion was
a crossbred shown by Enc Zei
set, son of Mr and Mrs Abram
Zeiset, East Earl R 1
Ruoss also won the fitting ti
tle and Lester Bowman, son of
Mr. and Mrs Raymond Bowman,
East Earl Rl, won the showman
ship contest.
