Customer reports during the
1967-68 winter season showed
an 80 per cent success rate in
using the new product. Many
respondents showed an interest
in a container larger than tiie
two-ounce aerosol can used ex
clusively last year.
This year, Dow has added an
attractive four-ounce can to its
line.
Dow officials feel the four
ounce can contains enough trac

unstuck four or five time
more than enough for the aver
age winter needs.
WHY PAY MORE FOR LESS?
SILAGE ENRICHER
“ALGIT”
A PRODUCT OF THE SEA
Use 5 lbs. Algit to each ton of silage.
1. This prevents “Run Off”, (of juices)
2. Keep the silage fresh.
3. Eliminate that certain odor from silage.
4. Increase the nutritional value of silage.
5. Cattle prefer Algit treated silage.
6. The smell which your clothes get in
wintertime is eliminated.
Spread on top of load by hand before unloading.

SAFETY TRAINING
MANDATORY FOR YOUNG
HUNTERS NEXT YEAR
Pennsylvania youths were re
minded this week by the Game
Commission that hunter safety
tiaining docs not become manda
tory in the slate until Sept. 1 of
next year.
After Sept. 1, 1969, a youth un
der the age of sixteen who has
never possessed a hunting li
cense will be requited to com
plete a hunter safety training
course before being eligible for
a hunting license.
Some hunters apparently think
the rule becomes effective this
year. It does not apply until
1969.

If you or your spouse had l«

When the time comes to make

Proper Maintenance
Saves Machinery
Farm machinery repair costs
usually range between 10 and
120 percent of new machmeiy
costs, according to Thomas H.
Williams, extension agricul
tural engineer at the University
of Delaware.
Proper maintenance, how
ever, reduces machinery wear
and repair costs and helps pro
long machinery life More im
portant, a well conditioned ma
chine insures efficient opera
tion and helps get woik done on
time.
A well equipped farm shop
can save farmers a considerable
amount of money, says Will
iams And proper tools stored
in an ordeily manner will save
a good deal of time on many re
pans.
A good shop includes most of
the tools and equipment neces
sary foi maintaining and repair
ing the machmeiy on a particu
lar faim, he adds The shop
should be wned for adequate
lighting and should have
enough eleetucal outlets to ac
commodate all electrical equip
ment
Working space should be al
located so that machinery, tools
and labor may be combined
with peak efficiency Generally
speaking, it is advisable to pro
vide machinery storage and
shop facilities in the same build
ing
This allows comfort and con
venience in servicing machines
and provides dry, well-lighted
working space in bad weather.
