Farmers Warned On Fed Cattle Weights Sec. of Agrlc. Orville L. Free man has called attention to the fact that marketing weights of fed cattle recently have started to move above levels of a year ago. The Secretary warned that this trend could hurt fed cattle prices, which have been higher than a year earlier all through 1968. He said one of the main rea sons for the stronger price has been the good judgment shown by cattle feeders in the orderly marketing of their cattle as they reached proper finish for their grade.
