Benefit Auction
Slated For
This Saturday,
A benefit auction was the top
ic of discussion at a recent
meeting of the Eastern District
Cabinet of Pennsylvania Church
of the Brethren Youth Fellow
ship. The public is invited to at
tend the auction, which will be
held this Saturday (April 13),
beginning at 10 a.m. on the
grounds of Root’s Country Mar
ket & Auction, two miles north
of East Petersburg off Rt. 72.
Items to be auctioned include
farm machinery, used televi
sions. single and double beds,
gas stoves, end tables, space
heaters, washing machines,
dishes, books, potted plants, a
clarinet, a piano, a car, and a
truck. Interested persons and
business concerns have donated
all the articles to be sold To
add to the atmosphere of a coun
try auction, chicken corn soup,
hot dogs with sauerkraut, bar
becue, cold and hot drinks, and
ice cream will be sold at the re
freshment stand, as well as car
ry-out baked goods.
The purpose of the sale is to
laise money for youth hostels in
India. This program provides a
home environment and an edu
cation for Indian children rang
ing in age from the primary
through high school level.
