Photo Manheim Young Farmers Have Banquet Annual The Manheim Young Farmers’ Banquet was held last week at Hostetter’s Banquet Hall in Mt Joy In the awards program, Clar ence Keener Jr., Manheim Rl, had the highest corn yield with 208 bushels He received an en graved silver plate, a blue ros ette and a $25 gift from Organic Plant Food. Second was Donald Hershey, Manheim R 2- with 186 bushels and third was Harold Esben shade, Manheim R 2, with 184 bushels They each received ap oropriate rosettes and $l5 and $lO, respectively, from Organic. Vo-Ag teacher, Jess Erway, JOHN STONER SALE The farm sale of John Stoner, Willow Street Rl, was held Thursday, March 14, with the following prices received: Two tractors brought $5,600 and $l,- 200; Baler $1,960; Truck $l,- 705; Forage wagon $740, Flail chopper $640; Grain drill $690; Bale elevator $580; Hay up to $35.25 a ton; Corn up to $3150 a ton; Bale wagons $390 each Diller and Kreider were the auctioneers presented certificates to those members who completed the Land Management Course spon sored by the group. They are: Gerald Erb, Harold Esbenshade, Jay Forman, Barry Haldeman, Clarence Keener, Forney Long enecker, Paul Kline, Ronald Donald Hershey presided at the meeting. Kline, Mark Nestleroth, Preston Newcomer, Jay Rohrer, Mervm Sauder, Jerry Shaffer, Kenneth Smeltzer. The Manheim Bank and the Pioneer Seed Company repre sented by John Weidman were recognized as contributors to the organization. CLOYD HENDERSON SALE The farm sale of Cloyd Hen derson, Russelville, was held Friday, March 15 with the fol lowing prices received; Two tractors at $2,775 and $2,185; Chuck wagon $800; Hay cut-di tioner $1,260; Baler $1,935; Flail Choper $500; Corn Picker $600; Bale wagon $450; Corn planter $250; and grade cows up to $470.
