No. He’s changing to space-saving electric heat.
What! Another furnace service call?
And in addition to space-saving, the prime
reasons for changing to electric heating are
comfort and convenience. There are side
benefits, too flameless, soot-free cleanliness;
long life; and no fuel deliveries and service
contracts.

Certified Seed
Your Best Buy
Farmers who purchase poor
quality "bargain seed" may
lose all o’ part of their invest
ment in laud, labor and fer
tilizer.
In the overall cost of produc
tion, seed is a minor item. In
the long run. the cheap bargain
seed is usually the most expen
sive It may be of poor quality,
doubtful variety and may even
contain a large amount ot weed
seed.
Seed quality may be calcu
lated by determining the amount
of pure live seed, or usable seed,
per bushel of seed. To obtain
this figure, multiply the per
centage of germination by the
percentage of purity of the seed.
For example, seed with 70 per
cent germination and 80 percent
purity has only 56 percent pure
live seed. Seed with 90 percent
germination and 98 percent pur
ity has 88 2 percent pure live
seed.
To figure the cost per bushel
of usable seed, divide the cost
per bushel by the percentage of
pure live seed. The seed with
56 percent pure live seed costs
only $3 25 a bushel while the
88.2 percent pure live seed costs
$4 a bushel. In the long run,
however, bargain seed costs
$5 80 per bushel of usable seed
compared to only $4 54 per bush
el for the higher quality seed.
To get high quality seed, be
sure to check germination and
purity on the analysis tag. says
Mitchell Always buy seed from
a reputable source and look for
the blue tag that tells vou it is
Delaware Certified Seed.
