    Farm Group Fights For Freer
Trade With Pacific Nations
WASHINGTON The Nation
al Farmers’ Union recently
called Tor “far freer trade re
lations with the democratic na
tions of the far Pacific commun
ity, including Oceania ”
NFU pressed the point as
plans advanced for the U. S
Food and Agriculture Exhibition
in Tokyo, Japan, Apr. 5 21.
The exhibition in Tokyo will
seek to maintain and expand
the Japanese market for Amer
ican farm and food products,
now a $1 billion a year market
NFU said that while it favors
liberal trade policies, it doesn’t
want to see U. S industry ruin-
