Of course the highlight for the Grassland Chapter was the receiving of the National Gold Emblem. Charles Ackley and his Clois ter members also visited a large steer operation near Mt. Vern on, Ind., 50 miles west of In dianapolis. This farmer has three operations where he feeds 300 steei s with fully automated equipment. They also toured the Hereford Breed Headquarters. Each local school went to the convention separately and each brought back photographs for Lancaster Farming.
