YUMMY CUPCAKES -a cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs J ,2 cup molasses 2 l b cups sifted all-purpose flour J 2 teaspoon baking soda v» teaspoon salt I*2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon cloves 3 4 teaspoon nutmeg *4 teaspoon mace I 2 cup milk 1 package fluffy white fiost mg mix Colored sprinkles Cream shortening with sug ar. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Blend in mo lasses. Sift together flour, soda, fait, and spices; blend into mixture alternately with milk. Spoon into 18 paper-lined cup cake pant. Bake In 350 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Prepare frosting according to package directions; frost cup cakes and garnish with sprin kles. Makes 18 cupcakes. • ♦ • ♦ GROOVY LOOPS 2'i cups pancake mix tablespoons granulated sugar tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar teaspoon nutmeg egg, well beaten cup milk tablespoons melted butter or margarine cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon V* teaspoon nutmeg For donuts, combine pan cake mix, sugars and nutmeg. Add egg, milk and butter; mix thoroughly. Turn out on light ly floured board or canvas and knead gently a few seconds. Roll out to *6-inch thickness; cut in -inch strips. Gently lift each strip; shape to form an elongated “e”. Press to gether lightly where dough crosses. Peel and core ap ples; bring molasses mixture to a boil; add apples, reduce heat. Cover and cook 15 min utes. Uncover: turn apples and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes. Chill. Cut apples "pet al fashion” but do not cut all the way through.
