tioneer’s chant and the pound
of his gavel will be heard of
ten during the 11th annual
Pennsylvania Livestock Exposi
tion, Nov. 4-11, at the Farm
Show Building, Harrisburg.
In addition to the livestock
sales that are part of the Ex
position program, two breed
sales are scheduled.
A Suffolk bred ewe sale will
be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7
p.m. at the sheep pens, spon
sored by the Pennsylvania Suf
folk Sheep Association.
Fifty Appaloosa horses will
go on the auction block in the
Small Arena on Wednesday at
7:30 p.m at a sale sponsored
by the Keystone Appaloosa As
sociation.
The Exposition’s sale sched
ule begins with feeder calves
at 10 a.m, Thursday, Nov. 9,
and market animals - steers,
wethers, barrows and cham
pion carcasses - at 2 p.m., all
ir the Small Arena Exposition
rules require that the grand
champion of each specie be
sold.
Harold R McCulloch, show
manager, said this week that
entries for the Exposition are
still being processed because
of the last-minute crush at the
Sept. 30 deadline
Piemiums for the Exposition
total approximately $50,000,
with additional awards and
trophies by various national
breed associations.
The Exposition is sponsored
by the Pennsylvania Depart
ment of Agriculture, its Farm
Show Commission, and the
Pennsylvania Livestock and Al
lied Industries Association.
