Another 12,000 girls are par
ticipating in foods and nutri
tion, home management, and
family life education projects.
Over 12,000 Pennsylvania
boys and girls raise and care
for livestock projects, and an
other 7,200 learn more about
growing horticultural crops.
A project in 4-H leadership
is attracting about 3,000 of our
state’s youth who serve as teen
leaders in their local clubs,
the Penn State official said At
the same time these members
are helping younger members
with their 4-H work, they are
helping themselves learn more
about the x-oles of leadership.

tion agencies already assist the
Cooperative Extension Service
in the national 4-H Conservation
of Natural Resouices program.
This particular 4-H program
serves many needs in both imal
and urban areas
Conservation education has
spurred enrollment to an all
time high of nearly 270,000
youth, according to the Exten
sion Service. The aim of the pro
gram is to teach life and. hoew it
j depends on proper management
(of natural resources
and provide expanded oppor
tunities for members to partici
pate in county, state, and na
tional events.
“This is a good time to check
into the opportunities the 4-H
program can offer you,” Jinks
emphasized “Your Cooperative
Extension Service Office is
your local 4-H information cen
ter located in each county
throughout the Commonwealth.
