Layman had worked in ad ministration and Fredd was on leave. Jerrv McCai roll moved from agriculture to driver edu cation. Paul Palmer transferred to Penn Manor, replacing Gar land Gingerich who is on a year's leave of absence in Hon duras. The third Solanco teach er, J. Richards Wood, remains at Solanco. Meanwhile, at Garden Spot High School. Robert Elmer moved from teaching to active farming, and department had Robert Herr spearheads a pilot program which will involve six th, seventh, and eighth graders. This will consume all of his teaching time, and agriculture has been expanded to a three man department. Ogline re places Herr and Robinson comes in for Elmer. NEW TEACHERS Ogline has taught vocational agriculture for the past two years in Somerset County. He is a three-year Marine Corps veteran, and a graduate of Pen i State University’s agricultural education program. The Oglines presently reside in Ephrata. Robinson will handle the young farmer program at Gar den Spot. He is also a Penn State graduate, and has recently icturned from a tour of duty in Vietnam with the U. S. Army; he holds the rank of captain. Robinson’s vo-ag teaching ex perience consists of four years in Montgomery County. The Robinsons and their three chil dren presently reside in Lititz, but hope to relocate nearer the Garden Spot area. In other business, the county agriculture teachers heard hog show committee chairman Clair Zerby report on this week’s show and sale. In discussing the subject of more uniform stand ardization of entry weights, Zer by noted that 23 hogs entered had been over 250 pounds The association members voted to set maximum and minimum limits of 250 and 180 pounds, respectively, for future shows. Dates were announced for several upcoming events. Elvin Hess, chairman of the County Star Faimei awaid committee announced that all competing boys aie to report to Penn Man or High School at 1 pm.
