of farm management at Penn
Stale University has been
named assistant director of the
Agricultural Experiment Sta
tion at Penn State as of this
month. The appointment was
announced by Russell E. Lar
son, dean of the College of Ag
riculture, and M. A. Farrell,
station director.
’ Experienced in computer
use, Hutton has an initial as
signment to apply computer
oriented management control
procedures to budgets and re
ports related to the program of
agricultural research.
Hutton has been associated
with the University since 1954
in the Department of Auricul-
turai Economics and Rural So
ciology. For several years Ws
research led to development of
linear programming models to
biend feed and formulate live
stock and poultry rations. He
describes linear programming

of Kentucky, he received the
master of arts and doctor of
philosophy degrees from Har
vard University with a major
in economics.
