LIVE HENS
Prices on light hens were un
changed to l/ 4C lower. Demand
only fair. Local offerings bare
ly adequate. Most plants sup
plementing supplies from out
side areas in moderate volumes.
Offerings on heavy hens ample
for the light buying interest.
Some inquiry for roasters over
7 lbs. remained unfilled due to
limited open-market offerings.
Prices paid at farm: Light Type
hens 5-6 J 4. mostly 5-6 c; Heavy
12'4-14c.
TURKEYS
Current offerings very light
for fair to good buying interest.
However, increased offerings
noted for movement by the
end of month. Some price nego
tiations developed for heavy
hens for movement during week
of May 27 centered at 22c per
