ify for the “B” level, a young
ster must be over 14 years of
age, be able to take his horse
over a three and a half-foot
jump, do elementary teaching,
be able to ride a green (un
trained) horse, and meet oth
er high standards.

mounted and once unmounted
(The club’s name is somewhat
of a misnomer since it also

tion of rider and mount pre
cedes instruction at each of
the mounted meetings, with
the inspecting officer coming
from outside the club Mem
bers are judged on the cleanli
ness of themselves, their tack,
and their mounts The mem
ber scoring the highest num
ber of inspection points in each
group gets to wear a sash of
pony club colors throughout
the meeting.
At the unmounted meetings,
youngsters receive instruction
on stable management, veter
inary medicine, and fox hunt
ing in the form of lectures
and films.

their mounts so that each is
thoroughly happy and comfort
able with the other," Mrs. Huss

While the parents of each
member automatically become
sponsors, they meet annually
to elect an executive commit
tee to represent them and to
handle the club's business di
rectly. Serving on the execu
tive committee this year are
