Silage Density Better When Distributor Used Silage density will be more uniform, the silo unloader will opeiate smoother and 10-20% moie tonnage can be stored in a silo 20 feet in diameter or larger when a distributor is used Proper distribution also makes moisture content moie uniform and prevents the wet and dry zones that can occur in low moistuie silage Seveial types of distributors are being used The blower pipe distributor turns from side to side and blows the silage across the silo Another distributor used is a silo un loader which is reversed to cairy chopped forage outward iiom the silo center where it has been deposited by a filler pipe A deflector distributor driven by an electric motor also is used, and will work well until the silo is almost full.
