Slate Agriculture Secretary. Leland H. Bull said, basic data will be collected by the Crop Reporting Service in his de partment as a guide for coule es of action that may be de veloped. Little exact information is now available, he stated, on the extent ito which irriga tion has been adopted on farms in 'the state and on fu ture needs. More data is need ed on the source of water used, amounts used, kinds of systems being operated, kinds of crops watered, and on it* economic feasibility. Bull said demands for water for various uses are increasing rapidly, and that if agriculture is to have a fair share its needs must be determined quickly The survey was requested by irrigation experts, waiter c onservationists, farmer's, and representatives of various gov ernmental agencies at a meet ing called by the Department of Agriculture.
