Red'Meat Production
Down 10% In July
Production of red meat in
July declined from June lev
els in both the state and na
tion, according to the Pennsyl
vania Crop Reporting Service.
July output in Pennsylvania
totaled 72,303,000 pounds, 10
percent less than in June and
2 percent less than in July
last ygar. Total production for
the first seven months of 1966
was 559,647,000 pounds, about
1 percent more than last year.
Commercial pi oduetion in
the United States totaled 2,421
million pounds m July, 9 per
cent less than in June.
Stocks of all meats in cold
storages in the nation on Au
gust 1 totaled 492 million
pounds, 26 million pounds less
than a month earlier, but 50
million pounds more than sup
plies on hand August 1, 1965.
The dairy industry is the
second largest food industry in
the nation, accounting for
about one-fifth of the total re
tail value of foods produced
and consumed in the nation.

Use any leftover meat or vegetable as T

An Electronic Mobile Heoring Test Unit
will give free hearing tests Saturday in
Mount Joy and Manheim.
The test consists of a series of tones
transmitted thru earphones at various tone
levels. Each oar is tested separately and the
technician in charge will be able to deter
mine immediately if a hearing loss is pre
sent and the approximate percentage of
loss.
Information will be available on ear
surgery and all types of heoring aids.
