The Agriculture Department this past Wednesday increased the price support for manu facturing milk fiom $3 50 to $4 a bundled pounds The move, the second m ciease in the support price since April 1, is designed to halt a decline in milk produc tion The first price suppoit boost was ordered by Secretary of Agncultuie Orville L Free man on April 1 and raised the farm price suppoit from $3 26 to $3 50 a hundredweight The new increase will also have the side effect of boost ing pioducei pnces of fluid milk an aveiage of 20 cents a hundiedweight during the pe nod ot July through next March The increase will affect all Lancaster County farmers who ship to dairies regulated by either the New York-New Jer- (Continued on Page 7) Six Local Youths To Attend 4-H - School Six local youths will attend the Southeastein Penna Dis trict 4-H Leadei'ship School on July 5, 6 and 7 at the Cocoa Inn, Hershey They are Wayne Denlinger, Gordonville Rl, Daniel Roh rer, Manheim Rl; Paul Bru baker, Lititz Rl, Linda Porter, Washington Boro, Rl, Mary Sue Hess, Manheim Rl, and Daune Palmer, 152 Spruce St, Lititz The school consists mainly of speakers and discussions on teen leadership.
