Winners At League Banquet Meet
The Eshelman Mill bowling
quintet secured one leg on
permanent possession of the
Feed & Hatchery League trav
eling trophy by sweeping a
playoff match against the
Hempfield Mill team at the
end of the past season. The
trophy was one of many award
ed recently at the League’s
annual banquet held at the
Mount Joy Legion Hall.
The traveling trophy was
donated by Lancaster Lanes,
and was accepted on behalf of
the winning team’s sponsor

by Robert Beltz
The runnerup team, Hemp
field Mills, was honored with
each member receiving a 13-
inch, individual trophy Each
member of the champion team
also received individual, 21-
inch trophies
Other trophies and awards
went to Babcock Hatchery,

handicap, Babcock Hatchery
again for high team single
game; and to Indian River for

Coover served as master of
ceremonies for the banquet
which was attended by 105
persons. Other league officers
are Bob Gross, vice president;
Joe Wolgemuth, secretary; and
Lee Buckwalter, treasurer.
The Feed & Hatchery
League, which is composed of
12 teams sponsored by area
agricultural industry, bowl a
36-week schedule. Play will re
sume on August 29, when the
new season will begin. Ac
cording to League secretary
Wolgemuth, more teams or
anyone wishing to sponsor a
team would be welcome. How
ever. he stressed, the dead
line for entering new teams
is mid-July.
The 12 teams finished the
year in the following order:
I—Eshelman Mill; 2—Hemp
field Mill; 3—Agway, Inc.; 4
—Greider Farm; s—Red Rose;
6—Babcock; 7—Early Bird; 8
—Hubbard Farms; 9—lndian
River; 10—Checkerboard; 11—
Starline; 12—Eshelman Office.
