4-H CLUB NEWS
MANREIM CENTRAL CLUB
ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

The Manheim Central 4-H
Sewing Club met Monday eve
ning, May 16, at the Man
heim Zion Lutheran Church.
Four different fields of 4-H
will be held this summer.
These are sewing, cooking,
child care and bedroom care.
Most of the girls have chosen
tile sewing division. They will
learn basic sewing skills.
The following officers were
elected: president, Martha
Fisher, who will also repre
sent the club at County
Council; vice president, Pat
Kr eider; secretary, Marilyn
Stauffer; treasurer, Mary Sue
Hess; song leader, Meg Phil
lips; game leaders, Jill Cas
key and Judy Harnley; and
news reporters, Joyce Car
penter and Linda Detwiler.
AYRSHIRE-JERSEY CLUB
MEETS IN LITITZ AREA

The Ayrshire-Jersey 4-H
Club met May 9 at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bru

Bill Arrowsmith announced
that a poster contest is being
held April through June. The
Inter-State Milk Producers
Cooperative is sponsoring the
contest, which is open to any
person age 13 through 19 who
is a son or daughter of an
Inter-State member, a mem
ber of a 4-H Club or FFA
Chapter, or any other dairy
organization.
After the meeting, games
were played and refreshments
were served by Mrs. Brubak
er.
June 14, at 8 30 pm, an of
ficers training meeting will
be held at the Farm Credit
Building. All officers of 4-H
clubs aie urged to attend.
The next meeting of the
Ayrshire-Jersey Club will be
held at the home of James
Esbenshade, Quanyville R 2,
on June 13, at 7 30 pm.
LITITZ-MANHEIM SEWING
CLUB REORGANIZES

of the Lititz-Manheim Sewing
club was held May 7, at the
home of Mrs. David Buckwal
ter, Lititz R 3. Thirty-seven
members attended.
The club members elected
the following officers Judy
Buckwalter, piesident; Shir
ley Buckwalter, vice president;
Daune Palmer, secretary-treas
urer; Debbie Wenger, song
leader; Carolyn Snader and
Anna Ruth Long, game lead
ers, Carol Rohrer, news re
porter; county council repre
sentatives, Daune Palmer and
Shirley Buckwalter.
Following the business
meeting, the guls received
project books and informa
tion from their leader.
This year’s leaders are
Mrs David Buckwalter, Mrs.
Henry Kettering, Mrs. Virgil
Ritchey, Mrs Samuel Heven
er, Mrs Russell Rohrer, Mrs
Robert Spahr, and Mrs. Ed
mund Stadel.
The next meeting was
scheduled for May 28, 130
