B—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 7, 1966 .• Pa. Agri. Report (Continued from Page 1) Show steer "Corky'’, a Short horn, nre shown working-out on the Hess farm in prepara tion for the big show. The 104-pagc report is a statistical account of the state’s agriculture in 1965, and of the records and near-records it set. It shows that total cash re ceipts to farmers were at an all-time high in 1965, more than $5 million higher than the previous mark set in 1951. Some other interesting facts disclosed by the summary show that milk accounted for 40 percent of total farm income: that poultry and eggs returned $143 million; wheat, barley and tye produced record yields per acre of 34, 48, and 27 bushels respectively. The report also noted that Pennsylvania had 82.000 farms at the beginning of 1966, com pared t 0170.000 in 1946, a loss of about 57 percent in the twenty-year period. That many farms grew larger during the interval is reflected in the fact that net farm acreage loss was only slightly less than 20 per cent since 1946. '• ASCS Report (Continued trom Page 1) 235.488 acres of feed grains, most of which was accounted for by diversion of corn land, and included acreage allocated to the Cropland Adjustment Program (CAP).
