For 4-H Teen Leaders

Teen Leaders from Bucks,
Montgomery, Philadelphia,
Delaware and Chester Coun
ties attended the camping
workshop sponsored by the
Urban Youth Committee of
the Agricultural and Home
Economics Extension Service.
The program was designed to
assist teen leaders in the live
county area in understanding
their role as a leader and
how to work with the young
er 4-H members in their re
spective clubs. The workshop
consisted of discussions and
demonstrations in Health and
National Awards conducted
by Beverly Steely, student
and former 4-H member at
tending Susquehanna Univer
sity; Tools for Teaching con
ducted by George Mansell,
Montgomery County Agent;
Telling the 4-H Story to the
Community, Mrs. George Sieg
fries, Montgomery County;

them and showed a movie
of ‘‘Our Men in Space,” Al
lan Brown, an International
Farm Youth Exchange dele-
gate who had just returned
from a six-month visit in
Mexico, gave them an under
standing of youth in that
country. Folk singing, danc.
ing, and recreation with the
leadership angle in mind, was
also included in the two day
program.

Flying Farmers
Tour Plane Plant
On Saturday, April 23, a
group ot approximately 200
Flying Farmeis irom Region
I, comprising chapters of
Virginia, Maryland. Delawaie,
New Jersey and Pennsylvania,
and Flying Farmers from Re
gion II with chapters in New
York, Vermont and Ontano,
Canada, selected a compass
heading for Williamsport, Pjt,
Upon arrhal at Lycoming
County Airport, the fliers
were guests of Avco Lycom
ing Dnision tor a guided tour
of the factory facilities fol
lowed by a luncheon and
educational program at the
Holiday Inn.
After the tactory tour and
luncheon, a brief meeting was
conducted by the Flying
Farmers followed by com
ments trom Arco Lycoming
and Piper personnel. Officers
ot the ■visiting chapters were
introduced by Regional Di
rector, L. L Logan, West
Chester, Pa and Asa Culver,
Trumansburg, XY. Chapter
Queens were introduced by
Ruth Wilson, Xottingham, In
ternational Flying Farmer
Queen.
Piper Aircraft displayed
three of its newest model
aircraft which were on dis
play at the airpoit lor the
occasion.
