Kill I For Thick Planting,
Combine Harvesting
First of the DeKalb Hybrids adapted for populations up
to 22,000. 640 has grown in popularity in Southern Penn
sylvania because it responds to thick planting and high
fertility with big yield increases. Adapted to shelling in
the field, 640 produces shelled grain of unusually high
quality. With its above-average height and extra leafiness,
640 is an excellent silage corn for Pennsylvania.

This vigorous, well-balanced hybrid has yielded well from
Pennsylvania to Colorado. Yield margins, in official and
DeKalb trials, have consistently run 10 to 15 bushels
above test averages. In an official 1964 Southern Penn
sylvania trial, XL-361 yielded 12 bushels above the test
average. XL-361 shows vigorous growth, with excellent
tolerance to diseases and insects, as well as strong stalks
and shanks..
