try Queen is crowned. The
judges’ choice will represent
the state’s poultry industry
during the coming year, her
public relations work includ
ing appearances on television
and at various agricultural
functions. Lucy Jane Frye of
Pineville, Bucks County, is
the reigning queen.
As many as 15,000 persons
are expected to attend the
statewide chicken barbecue on
August 28, according to Paul
Konhaus of Mechanicslburg,
Penna, the festival’s general
chairman.
In addition, the festival will
spotlight a display by the
Pennsylvania Department of
Agriculture, a waterfowl ex
hibit and pond, and “educated
chickens” performing.
