BROILER PLACEMENTS
INCREASE 14 PERCENT
Placements of broiler chicks
in the Commonwealth during
the week ending April 17, to
taled 954,000, according to thfi
Pennsylvania Crop Reporting
Service. The placements in
creased 14 percent from the
previous week and 40 percent
from a year ago. Settings foi
broiler chicks totaling 1,476,-
000 remained about the same
as the previous week tout
were 57 percent above a year
ago. The current 3-week total
of eggs set increased 38 per
cent from last year. Ins tup
meats of broiler-type chicks
during the past 10 weeks to
taled 837,000 or >l4O percent
above the comparable period
in 1964. Outshipments (2,-

above the 'comparable period
a year earlier.
