Weekly Broiler Report BROILER PLACEMENTS DECREASE 11 PER CENT Placements of broiler chicks in the Commonwealth during the week ending January 16, totaled 678,000 according to the Pennsylvania Crop Report ing Service. The placements decreased 11 per cent from the previous week hut were, about the same as a year ago. Settings for broiler chicks to taling 1,434,000 increased 4 per cent from the previous week and 34 per cent from a year earlier. The current 3- week total of eggs set in creased 25 per cent from last year. Inshipments of broiler type chicks during the past 10 weeks totaled 248,000 or 58 per cent below the com parable period in 1963-64. Out shipments (1,919,000) were about the same as the com parable period a year ago. Placements in the 22 major producing stales totaling 38,- 988,000 chicks declined 3 per cent from the previous week but were 7 per cent above a year earlier. The 10-week to tal increased 2 per cent from last year. Settings of 56,683,- 000 increased 3 per cent from the previous week and 9 per cent from a year ago.
